Mail ballot applications can be declined for a few common reasons. These are the most frequent ones:
Incomplete address
The home address on your mail ballot application does not match the address in our voter registration records, even though you are registered in Montgomery County.

Not registered
You are not currently registered to vote in Montgomery County.

Duplicate application
We have already received and processed a mail ballot application for you. If you apply again, the new application is marked as a duplicate and rejected. If your first application was approved, your ballot status does not change. 👉 Click here to change your ballot delivery address.
Party not eligible (Primary Election only)
In Pennsylvania Primary Elections, voters may only vote for candidates in the political party they are registered with. If your party registration does not match, your application may be declined.
👉 Click here to update your party affiliation.
📬Montgomery County Voter Services is also required to mail you a letter explaining why your application was rejected.
