Applications can be declined for a few reasons. Here are the most common:
Incomplete address – Voter is registered in Montgomery County but the home address provided on their mail-in application doesn’t match our Voter Registration records. Click here to update your voter registration.
Not registered – Voter is not currently registered in Montgomery County. Click here to register to vote. Click here to update your voter registration.
Duplicate - It means that we have already processed an application for you. So, if you apply again, it will be considered a “duplicate” and rejected. If you were previously approved for a ballot, the status does not change.
Party Affiliation not eligible* – In PA Primary Elections, you can only vote for the candidates in the same political party you have named in your voter registration. Click here to update your party affiliation.
Voters who provide an email on their application will automatically receive an email notification when their application is rejected. Montgomery County Voter Services is also required to mail all voters a letter with an explanation of the rejection.
